Mediocre education to blame for high unemployment: Venaani

WINDHOEK, 23 JAN (NAMPA) – Namibia’s 34 per cent unemployment rate can be attributed to a lack of excellence in schools and misappropriation of State resources in the education sector.
This is according to the leader of the official opposition party – the Popular Democratic Movement (PDM) – McHenry Venaani.
Briefing the media here on Monday, Venaani branded what he termed “quantitative education” a failure.

Three women in KHP court for fraud

KEETMANSHOOP, 23 JAN (NAMPA) – Three women appeared in an ongoing trial before magistrate Murray Shikongo in the Keetmanshoop Magistrate’s Court on Monday on charges of fraud involving an estimated N.dollars 324 000.
The accused - Magret Diergaardt, Eugene Fleermuys and Violet Basson - are all former employees of the Lewis furniture store in Keetmanshoop, where the alleged theft of money took place.
