Ongwediva Town Lodge burns down

ONGWEDIVA, 22 OCT (NAMPA) – A fire broke out at the Ongwediva Town Lodge at around 16h00 on Saturday, destroying the lodge and damaging the neighbouring Hotel Destiny.
The owner of the lodge, Hafeni Shiponeni in a telephone interview with Nampa on Saturday said the cause of the fire had not yet been determined.
“Certain people were reportedly having a braai near the swimming pool, but that is yet to be confirmed,” Shiponeni said.

Namibia, Algeria to sign cooperation agreements

WINDHOEK, 22 OCT (NAMPA) – Namibia and Algeria will sign various cooperation agreements during a Joint Commission of Cooperation (JCC) session on Monday and Tuesday.
The two countries have maintained bilateral relations and cooperation in various sectors such as education, sports and youth development.
Currently, there are 15 Namibian students studying in Algeria, whilst the country’s diplomatic mission was opened in the host country in July 2016.
