Thousands march in Berlin in memory of murdered communist icons

Berlin (dpa) - Thousands of people marched in Berlin on Sunday in memory of revolutionary icons Rosa Luxemburg and Karl Liebknecht, who were both murdered 99 years ago.
Luxemburg and Liebknecht, founders of the German Communist Party, were murdered by soldiers in the early days of the Weimar Republic and are seen by the left as martyrs.
People marched to the Socialist Monument in Berlin's Friedrichsfelde cemetery where the two are buried and laid wreaths and red carnations.
