Over 100 000 tourism jobs to be created by 2020

WINDHOEK, 23 JAN (NAMPA) – Over 123 000 jobs are expected to be created in the local tourism industry by 2020, Minister of Environment and Tourism Pohamba Shifeta has said.
Speaking during the launch of the fifth edition of the Namibia Tourism Satellite Account (NTSA) here on Tuesday, Shifeta said tourism supported 100 720 jobs, which included 44 729 direct jobs in 2015.
The main aim of the NTSA is to quantify the contribution of travel and tourism to the Namibian economy.
