(Special for CAFS) Regulator says 109,374 Zambian teachers fail to pay for practicing license

LUSAKA, Aug. 10 (Xinhua) -- About 109,374 teachers have failed to pay for their practicing certificates following the expiry of the deadline, a regulator said on Friday.
The Teaching Council of Zambia said out of 134,374 registered teachers, only 25,000 have paid for their practicing certificates as at July 31, which was the deadline.
"This means that 109,374 of the registered teachers have defaulted in this regard," Ngoza Malonga, the regulator's spokesperson said in a statement.
