Chicago agricultural futures plunge as government raises production forecast

CHICAGO, Aug. 10 (Xinhua) -- Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) agricultural commodities plunged on Friday, with soybean futures dropping over four percent, after the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) raised its outlook for yield and production in its monthly crop report.
The most active corn contract for December delivery went down 11 cents, or 2.87 percent to close at 3.7175 dollars per bushel. September wheat delivery fell 17.75 cents, or 3.14 percent to close at 5.4675 dollars per bushel. November ...
