Windhoek CBD vendors stage demonstration

WINDHOEK, 19 OCT (NAMPA) – Nearly 50 female street vendors operating in Windhoek’s Central Business District (CBD) on Friday staged a peaceful demonstration at the Ministry of Gender Equality and Child Welfare (MGECW) offices, expressing frustration over alleged mistreatment by the City Police.
A petition addressed to the Office of the President through the MGECW said they are being terrorised by City Police officers through the confiscation of their goods and sometimes imprisonment.
