Water interruptions at Rundu after pumps damaged by lightning

RUNDU, 20 JAN (NAMPA) – There will be water interruptions in most residential areas in Rundu until 31 January, NamWater announced on Sunday.
The Namibia Water Corporation’s area manager in the region, John Muremi in a statement said one of their production pumps at Nkarapamwe was struck by lightning, while the other pump had mechanical failures.
“Currently we are running one raw water pump that delivers three times less than the demand,” he explained.
