Farmers offered 469 farms for government purchase in 2017/18

WINDHOEK, 12 DEC (NAMPA) – With the law requiring the government to get preference in buying farms in Namibia, commercial farmers offered 469 farms to the State to buy during the 2017/18 financial year, a report shows.
This information is contained in the Ministry of Land Reform’s annual report which was submitted to the National Assembly in October.
Of these farms, 89 offers of farms measuring a combined 387 622 hectares (ha) were withdrawn by the potential sellers.
