Optimal care needed for premature babies: Haufiku

OSHAKATI, 17 NOV (NAMPA) – Premature birth remains one of the top causes of death of children under five years worldwide and also in Namibia, Minister of Health and Social Services, Bernard Haufiku has said.
Haufiku made these remarks at the 2018 commemoration of World Prematurity Day at the Oshakati Intermediate Hospital on Friday.
He said an estimated 15 million babies are born preterm every year.
One million premature babies die every year as per World Health Organisation (WHO) statistics.
