Oranjemund land-based diamond mining to end
Written by Patience Smith on 22 October 2017.ORANJEMUND, 22 OCT (NAMPA) – Diamond mining operations conducted by Namdeb on land at Oranjemund are expected to scale down over the next few years and come to a complete standstill by 2022.
However, mining at sea in the Atlantic bordering the mining town will continue and possibly intensify through DebMarine Namibia, a company wholly owned by the Namibia Diamond Corporation (NamDeb).
