French tourists arrested for alleged possession of pieces of elephant tusks

OTJIWARONGO, 15 NOV (NAMPA) – Two French tourists aged 32 and 33 years were arrested on Thursday, allegedly after the police searched a vehicle they were traveling in and found two pieces of elephant tusks in the car at the Rooidag Gate checkpoint.
Spokesperson of the Namibian Police Force in the Otjozondjupa Region, Inspector Maureen Mbeha confirmed the arrest of the two tourists in an interview with Nampa on Friday.
