Keetmanshoop man gets life imprisonment for killing retired teacher
Written by Simon Endjala on 19 November 2019.WINDHOEK, 19 NOV (NAMPA) – A Keetmanshoop resident on trial in the Windhoek High Court for the murder of a retired teacher at the southern town in November 2012, was on Tuesday sentenced to life imprisonment.
Namibia’s prison authorities regard a life term of imprisonment as a sentence of a minimum of 25 years in jail. According to the Prisons Act, a prisoner has to serve half of his sentence before being considered eligible for release on parole.
