Shikongo out of IPC World Athletics Championships 400m

LONDON, 16 JUL (NAMPA) - Ananias Shikongo and his guide Even Tjiviju were knocked out of the T11, 400 metre semi-finals of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) World Athletics Championships on Sunday.
The two finished third in heat three of the T11, 400m race with a time of 52.83 seconds.
They will now turn their attention to the 200m on Thursday.
After the race Shikongo reiterated what he told Nampa earlier, when he said he would use the 400m race as a way to keep fit and active ahead of the 200m race.
Earlier in the day Lahja Ishitile was also eliminated in her last event of the competition when she competed in the T11, 400m race.
Shikongo meanwhile won silver in the menís T11, 100 metre after finishing second behind world champion David Brown of the United States of America Saturday night.
The IPC World Athletics Championships, which are taking place in London, started Friday and end on 23 July.
This major international multi-sport event involves athletes with a range of disabilities and is governed by the International Paralympic Committee.
