Agriculture ministry suspends selected poultry imports due to bird flu

WINDHOEK, 15 JAN (NAMPA) – The Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Land Reform has suspended imports and in transit movement of live poultry, birds and poultry products from 10 countries following an outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza.
The ministry in a media statement on Friday said the countries affected by the suspension are the Netherlands, Germany, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Ukraine, Belgium, Poland, Denmark, Sweden and France.
