(260721) -- TIANJIN, July 21, 2026 (Xinhua) -- Rimaz Dakhilallah Aljohani (C) tries welding at the Tianjin Intelligent Manufacturing Branch of Offshore Oil Engineering Co., Ltd. (COOEC) in Tianjin, north China, July 9, 2026. Rimaz Dakhilallah Aljohani, a 22-year-old junior majoring in petroleum engineering at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) in Saudi Arabia, began a two-month internship and training program with six of her classmates at Offshore Oil Engineering Co., Ltd. (COOEC) in Tianjin during the summer vacation. At the Tianjin Intelligent Manufacturing Branch of COOEC, she has experienced modern welding through VR technology, and learned about technologies behind China's modular construction and manufacturing of offshore oil and gas equipment. In 2022, China and Saudi Arabia signed the implementation plan for the synergy between the Belt and Road Initiative and Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030. The KFUPM-COOEC internship program represents a concrete practice in implementing the plan and provides a platform for youth exchanges. "The level of intelligent manufacturing and standardized project management here has greatly impressed me," Rimaz said. "I truly value this opportunity for international practical training. It has allowed me to gain first-hand knowledge of China's experience in the offshore oil industry. I hope to bring what I have learned back to Saudi Arabia and contribute to China-Saudi Arabia energy cooperation." (Xinhua/Sun Fanyue)
