Accumulated garbage is seen in a street in La Paz on June 4, 2026, amid growing political tensions and supply shortages affecting different regions of the country. The accumulation of waste in the city reached critical levels between late May and early June, posing a serious public health and environmental risk. The disruption of garbage collection services has been attributed to road blockades and, mainly, to a shortage of diesel fuel for collection trucks. (Photo by Aizar RALDES / AFP)
