Iranian container ship 'Nora', which has been held by the Danish Maritime Authority since February, is moored in Kalundborg Harbor, Denmark, on March 18, 2026. Before being held, the ship changed its name from 'Cerus' to 'Nora' and simultaneously switched from sailing under the Comorian to the Iranian flag. The National Unit for Special Crime (NSK) had previously forced the ship into Aarhus Harbor to be searched. NSK did not wish to comment further on the circumstances. According to Vesselfinder, the ship had last been in the port of Saint Petersburg, Russia, 48 days before NSK forced the ship into Aarhus Harbor on March 5. According to documents from the US Treasury, the ship is subject to international sanctions and has connections to the Dubai shipping company Reel Shipping LLC. The company is controlled by Mohammad Hossein Shamkhani, who is the son of Ali Shamkhani, who until his death on February 28 was an Iranian top official and advisor to the Ayatollah.
