Dermatologist Blandine De Carrere (R) and a patient step into an itinerant truck for an appointment as part of the Mobil Derm project supported by the Societe Francaise de Dermatologie (French Dermatology Society) at a parking lot in Lafox, south-western France, on April 2, 2026. As in the rest of France, patients suffering from skin diseases are facing significant delays in receiving care in Nouvelle-Aquitaine, with loss of chances in the most serious cases. In Lafox, 25 patients a day enter the few square meters of the mobile clinic, where a dermatologist from the Basque Country has come for two days to carry out consultations in her free time a pioneering system in France intended to compensate for the shortage of dermatologists and address medical deserts.
