The Asian e-commerce giant Shein announced to AFP on November 5, 2025 that it is suspending its "marketplace" in France, meaning the products offered online by third-party sellers, after the scandal linked to the sale of sex dolls resembling little girls. Shein made this decision "following concerns related to certain listings made by independent third-party sellers," according to a company statement. A source close to the matter told AFP that this announcement is unrelated to the French government's decision to initiate proceedings to suspend the Shein platform in France.
