MAWLR lifts restrictions after containing FMD outbreak in Zambezi

OPUWO, 19 MAY (NAMPA) – The Directorate of Veterinary Services under the Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Land Reform on Tuesday announced the lifting of restrictions after successful containment of the Foot and Mouth Disease outbreak in the Zambezi Region.
The outbreak was first recorded in cattle in the Kabbe North Constituency in August 2019 and the last confirmed case of FMD was recorded on 13 December 2019, the ministry said in a statement.
