Funds budgeted for recruitment of GBV protection unit police officers redirected to COVID-19

WINDHOEK, 20 JUL (NAMPA) – The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) will no longer fill vacant positions in the Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Protection Unit because the funds have been redirected to the fight against COVID-19.
This was confirmed by Minister of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security, Albert Kawana in a recent interview when Nampa followed up on the recruitment of police officers, which government announced last year in order to fight gender-based violence.< ...
