DOJ officials say they refused Trump demands to intervene in election

Washington (tca/dpa) - Former US president Donald Trump nearly replaced the head of the Department of Justice with a supporter of his fraud theories, the House panel investigating the January 6 Capitol insurrection detailed in its Thursday hearing.
The committee also revealed that multiple Republican members of Congress asked for presidential pardons from Trump in the days after January 6, 2021, including Representatives Matt Gaetz of Florida and Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia.
