Mixed reactions to deadly Israel-Gaza showdown
Gaza City, Palestinian Territories, Aug 6, 2022 (AFP) - The latest deadly flare-up between the Israeli military and Palestinian militants in Gaza has drawn mixed reactions from the international community, along with a chorus of calls for a de-escalation.
National Security Council spokesman John Kirby urged calm from both sides but said US ally Israel had the right to defend itself.
