Geingob wins hotly contested election
Written by Shelleygan Petersen on 30 November 2019.WINDHOEK, 30 NOV (NAMPA) – Incumbent President, Hage Geingob has won Namibia’s fiercely contested 2019 Presidential election, beating his closest rival, Panduleni Itula by over 222 000 votes.
Geingob got 464 703 votes from the Namibian electorate and Itula garnered 242 656 votes.
These results were released at the official announcement of the elections outcome by the Electoral Commission of Namibia through its Chairperson, Notemba Tjipueja, at the commission’s headquarters in the capital Friday night.
