Nudo’s Joseph Uapingene Windhoek's new mayor

WINDHOEK, 20 JAN (NAMPA) - Councillor Joseph Uapingene of the National Unity Democratic Organisation (Nudo) was declared as the mayor of Windhoek Thursday evening, following the withdrawal of five nominated councillors during the City of Windhoek’s office-bearer elections.
The nominated councillors who withdrew included the Affirmative Repositioning movement’s Dr Job Amupanda and Ilse Keister, Landless People’s Movement Ivan Skrywer, Sade Gawanas and Popular Democratic Movement’s Clemencia Hanases.
