German mobile operator Deutsche Telekom to shutter 2G network by 2028

Berlin (dpa) - German telecommunications firm Deutsche Telekom plans to discontinue the older GSM (2G) mobile network by summer 2028, the company announced on Tuesday. Deutsche Telekom's 2G mobile communications network will be completely switched off by June 30, 2028, the company said.
