NEW YORK, Dec. 2 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar advanced in late trading on Monday. The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, gained 0.67 percent to 106.445 at 3:00 p.m. (2000 GMT). In late New York trading, the euro fell to 1.0490 U.S. dollars from 1.0580 U.S. dollars in the previous session, and the British pound was down to 1.2650 U.S. dollars from 1.2739 U.S. dollars in the previous session.
