German conservationists urge: Stop feeding bread to ducks

Hamburg (dpa) - Taking the children to feed the ducks to help them through the winter does more harm than good, the German Wildlife Foundation recently told dpa in Hamburg. "This is misplaced animal love," foundation spokeswoman Jenifer Calvi said. Failure to heed signs prohibiting feeding can also result in fines of up to ?1,000 ($1,050). "Animal lovers should restrict themselves to observing them, without bread in their pockets," Calvi says. Br......
