Transit of Russian Gas Through Ukraine Stops on Wednesday

MOSCOW, January 1 (Sputnik) - The transit of Russian gas to Europe through Ukraine will be suspended starting Wednesday, 05:00 GMT after the five-year transit contract runs its course. Without this transit, the European market is set to lose around 15 billion cubic meters of gas with the Balkan Stream remaining the only possible way to deliver Russian gas to Europe.
