U.S. stocks close lower to end 2024

NEW YORK, Dec. 31 (Xinhua) -- U.S. stocks ended lower on Tuesday, as the U.S. equity market failed to end 2024 on a high note. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 29.51 points, or 0.07 percent, to 42,544.22. The S&P 500 sank 25.31 points, or 0.43 percent, to 5,881.63. The Nasdaq Composite Index shed 175.99 points, or 0.90 percent, to 19,310.79. Six of the 11 primary S&P 500 sectors ended in green, with energy and real estate leading the g......
