Berlin (dpa) - Another New Year's Eve marked by scores of injuries and five deaths from fireworks explosions across Germany has renewed debate in the country about stricter rules on fireworks or a possible nationwide ban. Even though this year's New Year celebrations were deemed largely peaceful, at least five people were killed in fireworks-related accidents and police arrested hundreds across the country as the nation rung in 2025.
