Kavango West records two deaths on Tuesday

NKURENKURU, 07 JAN (NAMPA)- A 52-year-old man identified as Mwahafa Gabriel committed suicide on Tuesday morning at Mpungu Village, in Kavango West Region.
According to Kavango West Police Deputy Commissioner Johannes Kudumo the incident occurred around 05h00 when the deceased hanged himself with a rope on a tree branch near his house.
No suicide note was left and his next of kin have been informed of his death.
In the second incident, a 52-year-old female identified as Musenya Regina Kaunda collapsed on also Tuesday at Mbambi Village in the Kavango West region.
Kudumo said the incident occurred around 06h00 when the deceased went with her children in the mahangu field to weed.
It is alleged that in the mahangu field, the deceased instructed her children to wait for her, while she went to relieve herself before they could start to weed.
“As time went by without her return, the children went to look for her and found the deceased lying on the ground not breathing,” he alleged.
The next of kin have been informed and the cause of death will only be known once an autopsy has been concluded, he added.
