Polish presidential election set for May 18, runoff on June 1

WARSAW, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) -- Polish Sejm Speaker Szymon Holownia announced on Wednesday that the presidential election will take place on May 18, with a potential second round scheduled for June 1. The decision has been forwarded to the National Electoral Commission chairman and the prime minister and will be published in the Journal of Laws on Wednesday, marking the official start of the election campaign.
