IMF Attributes Russia's Upward GDP Revision to Stronger Than Expected Data

WASHINGTON, January 17 (Sputnik) - The International Monetary Fund (IMF) revised its forecast for Russia’s GDP growth for 2024 and 2025 upward due to stronger-than-expected data, IMF Chief Economist Pierre-Olivier Gourinchas said on Friday. Russia's economy grew by 3.8% in 2024, but will slow to 1​​​.4% in 2025, the IMF said an update to its World Economic Outlook published earlier in the day.
