Man in critical condition after assault on Sydney street

SYDNEY, Jan. 23 (Xinhua) -- A man is in hospital in a critical condition after being assaulted by a group on a major road in inner Sydney. Police in the state of New South Wales (NSW) said that the 26-year-old man was on Enmore Road in Newtown, a popular nightlife spot in Sydney's inner southwest, at about 11 p.m. local time on Wednesday when he was attacked by a group of people.
