Winds top 160 km/h as Storm Eowyn batters UK, cuts power to a million

London (PA Media/dpa) - Winds reached 160 kilometres per hour as Storm Eowyn left one person dead, more than a million people without power and caused significant travel disruption across the UK and Ireland. Rail services, flights and ferries have been cancelled as rare red weather warnings are in place on Friday in Scotland. A previous red warning covering Northern Ireland has been downgraded to amber.
