Chemnitz, Germany (dpa) - A 37-year-old man has been sentenced to life in prison for the murder of Valeriia, a nine-year-old girl from Ukraine, who was killed in early June 2024 in a forest west of Dresden, the court in Chemnitz announced on Friday. The verdict against the defendant, a Moldovan citizen, was handed down on the fourth day of the trial. The man is the ex-partner of the victim's mother.
