Disappointing results from Google parent Alphabet weighed on the Nasdaq early Wednesday as the market digested solid US hiring figures. Alphabet sank 8.4 percent despite reporting higher revenues on worries the company's artificial intelligence investment plans are excessive. Alphabet plans to spend about $75 billion in 2025.
