Romanian Constitutional Court declares presidency vacant, Bolojan to serve as interim president

BUCHAREST, Feb. 11 (Xinhua) -- The Constitutional Court of Romania on Tuesday declared the office of President vacant and confirmed that Ilie Bolojan, President of the Senate, will take over as interim president on Feb. 12, 2025. The decision follows the resignation of Klaus Iohannis. He announced his resignation on Monday and confirmed he will leave the Cotroceni Palace on Wednesday.
