U.S. dollar ticks down

NEW YORK, March 11 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar softened in late trading on Tuesday. The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, lost 0.66 percent to 103.293 at 3:00 p.m. (1900 GMT). In late New York trading, the euro was up to 1.0926 U.S. dollars from 1.0824 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound advanced to 1.2956 dollars from 1.2870 dollars in the previous session.
