EU Council chief Antonio Costa called on Wednesday for further talks with the United States amid a worsening trade row after Washington imposed sweeping tariffs on steel and aluminium. "We don't want to escalate, the good way is to de-escalate," Costa told a press conference alongside German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, emphasising the EU's offer "to talk, to negotiate with the United States" over the issue. jsk/sr/lth ...
