German seaports saw 2.3% rise in handled goods in 2024

Flensburg, Germany (dpa) - German seaports handled 2.3% more goods last year than in 2023, the Federal Statistical Office said on Tuesday. A total of 274 million tons went through German harbours in 2024 after a decline in each of the two previous years. Last year was still 6.7% below the pre-coronavirus level of 2019, when 293.5 million tons were processed.
