Location costs for German air traffic outpace EU average, study shows

Berlin (dpa) - Higher location costs, including ticket tax and other fees, are hampering German air traffic in a European comparison, according to a study commissioned by the German Ministry for Digital and Transport. The study, published on Thursday, shows that location costs in the German aviation industry increased by 38% between 2019 and 2024, while the European average was only 26%.
