Ex-German FA boss Zwanziger could have tax evasion case dropped

Frankfurt (dpa) - Charges against former German Football Federation (DFB) president Theo Zwanziger, who is accused of tax evasion in relation to the awarding of the 2006 World Cup to Germany, are set to be dropped at the request of the Frankfurt regional court. Presiding judge Eva-Marie Distler made the proposal on the 25th day of the trial on Monday. The case could be dismissed in exchange for a payment of ?5,000 ($5,400) to a charitable cause,......
