Sibeya is Namcor's new acting MD

WINDHOEK, 28 MAR (NAMPA) - The National Petroleum Corporation of Namibia (Namcor) on Friday announced the appointment of Victoria Sibeya as the company’s new acting managing director.
Sibeya, a geologist by profession, currently serves as executive for Upstream Exploration. She replaced Ebson Uanguta, whose term as interim managing director ended.
“During his tenure, Mr. Uanguta provided steadfast leadership, guiding the organisation through a critical phase and playing an instrumental role in steering Namcor towards the continued delivery of its mandate. The Namcor board and staff extend their sincere gratitude for his contribution and commitment,” reads a statement released by Namcor.
Sibeya’s appointment is effective 01 April 2025.
She joined Namcor in 2006.
“We welcome Mrs Sibeya to the helm of Namcor and look forward to her continued contributions as we advance the corporation’s strategic priorities,” Namcor Board Chairperson, Florentia Amuenje was quoted as saying.
Namcor added that the recruitment process for a substantive managing director is currently underway.
Uanguta, who also serves as a Bank of Namibia deputy governor, was seconded to Namcor in January 2024 on an initial six-month contract, which was subsequently extended to a year and three months. He took over from Shiwana Ndeunyema, who vacated the position after just nine months.
Ndeunyema, who serves Namcor as executive for business strategy, was placed in the position of managing director following the suspension of managing director Immanuel Mulunga, whose employment was terminated in August last year after he was found guilty of misconduct involving unauthorised asset acquisitions.
