Asia's major exporters Vietnam, Japan and Taiwan are among the first economies to open negotiations with Washington over US President Donald Trump's sweeping tariffs, taking advantage of a 90-day reprieve from the global trade war. Notably absent from those trying to reach a compromise with Washington is China, which faces levies of up to 145 percent on many products and was not included in the tariff pause.
