South Korea's economy unexpectedly contracted by 0.1 percent in the first quarter of this year, the Bank of Korea said Thursday, as the country struggles with a political crisis and trade tensions. "Real gross domestic product (GDP) fell by 0.1 percent compared to the same period last year," the bank said in a press release, adding that it fell by 0.2 percent from the previous quarter. hs/tym ...
