Trier, Germany (dpa) - Lound bangs that led to a brief lockdown at a US military air base in western Germany were caused by a broken speaker, a spokeswoman for the facility said on Thursday, after the bangs had initially been mistaken for gunshot sounds. The defective loudspeaker system had been used during a contingency exercise, she said.
