Aixtron profit halves in Q1, sticks with full-year guidance

Frankfurt (dpa) - German chip systems manufacturer Aixtron reported on Wednesday a sharp drop in first-quarter earnings, with profit for the period falling to ?5.1 million ($5.8 million) from ?10.8 million in the prior-year quarter. Operating profit, or EBIT, came in at ?3.3 million, down from ?9.9 million a year earlier. Revenues slipped to ?112.5 million, compared to ?118.3 million in the same period last year.
